I have been meaning to start posting my photography here on my blog, so, as time permits, I plan to post the occasional frame that I shoot, or have shot in the past.

This one all started with an amazing storm the day before new years eve… When the storm cleared and we started to see the colour coming into the sky, I said to Sarah, “I wish I could take a photo of that, but by the time I get to a good vantage point it will be too late.”

She didn’t miss a beat, she grabbed the keys and said “Get in the Car”  I jumped in and she drove us out onto a crest of the main west-bound road near where we live, which was a perfect spot to catch the sunset which I never thought of…

I jumped out of the car like you see them do during police chases in the movies and started rattling off shots like a camera clad cross between Ken Duncan, Steve Parish and Rambo.

This was one of the resulting Pictures (Click to see larger size here)… it is a 5 frame, 15 exposure (HDR) panorama.

It is the first time I have ever tried to do an HDR panorama, and as the light was changing so quickly I didn’t have time to get the tripod out, so it was done hand held. God’s paint brush was certainly at play that day, I am pretty happy with the result of trying to capture what the eye could see, this is one of the best sunsets I have ever seen, so I am very glad I had the privelege of capturing it.

Have you ever tried shooting HDR? or panoramas? I’d love to hear about your experiences!

Anyway, thats all from me until next time!
